    Canned Fish

I'm trying out a new format for the Blog Sea, and I chose this one basically because it has an orange fish in the top right corner of the sharks.jpgbanner. I originally wanted a picture of Nemo of "Finding Nemo" fame when I started this blog but I ran into formatting problems. Basically, I think SquareSpace is telling me that if I want to customize something like that, I gotta fork over more cash. I also couldn't really find a picture of Nemo that suited my needs, although I did find this cool shark picture. So I'll just go with their canned fish for now until the Income Tax check comes in, and then maybe I'll get a little more ambitious with the banner graphics.

    Really Stupid Student (RSS)

Okay, I can't figure this RSS stuff out. I have my RSS reader up and running, and I'd like to start getting feeds from the world, or at least my fellow students who are planning to continue their blogs beyond the semester, but I keep getting error messages when I try to link to their home pages. I wish this stuff was like The Matrix and all I had to do was plug something into the back of my brain to know everything about it. Like, "I know Kung Fu" or "I know RSS Feeds"!

    Almost Bit It

Wow. What a week. So busy at work, so many things to do at home, this errand and that. Rushing from one task to the next, trying to plow through a seemingly endless list of chores during another crazy holiday season.

Then it happened. I'm at the bank, filling out a deposit slip to cover the mortgage check. Suddenly, inexplicably, I'm overcome by a coughing, choking sensation. It doesn't go away, it just gets worse. I move toward the exit, toward fresh air, but I'm stopped in my tracks. My throat is closing up on me. I can't breathe. Can't even make it outside for air. Is this the end?

People notice I'm having a problem. They come to help, they offer me water, they want to call 911.  Am I choking, am I asthmatic, am I having a heart attack? I can't tell them, I don't know myself, and I cannot speak. Then, finally, not as swiftly as it came upon me, it starts to slowly recede. My throat no longer feels like a straw, I can start to speak again. I can drink water, I will live another day. Some sort of reflux attack, I believe, that I will need an answer for...

But as surely as I write this blog now, I am reminded that all the troubles and challenges in my life only exist because of life itself. Christmas is the time to remember how precious and delicate life is, and to share that remembrance with those whom we cherish the most.

    You Made It!

Thanks for coming over to my new front page! This will be my new journal page now that the Trinity Blogging On class is coming to a close. I'm up to my ears this week with homework and catching up but please check back, I should have some new entries soon. Also, feel free to check out my AFL Fantasy Football weekly entries, those are uploaded on a periodic basis. As Ahh-nold would say, "Ah'll be baaack!"

    Coming Soon: More Mindless Blogs

Well, the Trinity Blogging On class winds down this evening, at which point Colin will throw us all out of our blog-nest. Some of us will fly, others will fall down and be eaten by rodents. My home blog page will shift back the A Slug's Life forum (this page) as its homepage, and then I hope to do some restructuring to make your Blog Sea experience more enjoyable.  Left to my own devices without guidance from a professor, I imagine I will soon be blogging about such topics as ear wax, paper clips, and belly button lint, but hopefully I can make it interesting in the process.bbl.jpg
