UAW-Dodge400.gifWondering where I've been the past few days? I can give you the answer in two words:  Vegas, baby! I've been out here since Wednesday for the UAW Dodge 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and dodging the blowing ricin powder in the process. I had my money on Greg Biffle to win, but Carl Edwards took the checkered flag ahead of The Biff and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. for his second win of the season. Biff got hosed on a pit road speeding penalty while Edwards escaped penalty on a runaway tire because video replay showed the tire hit a cameraman.  I always thought "the law was the law" in NASCAR but evidently there is subjectivity in the rules. (Ya think?) A big crash between front runners Matt Kenseth and Jeff Gordon brought out a two-lap shootout between the top three finishers, giving Biffle one last shot to overtake Edwards at the finish line, but Junior drove his #88 Chevy like the old lady towards the end of Ferris Beuller's Day Off to secure 2nd place and assure the victory for Flip Boy. Now there's talk of a violation on Edwards' oil pan, so who knows what NASCAR will decide? Ah, the drama!
