    Lights of Hope

The Hartford Courant reported today that another memorial service was held on the Cheshire High School football field for the wife and daughters of Dr. Petit, my personal physician for the past 13 years. Jennifer Hawke-Petit, Hayley Petit, and Michaela Petit were brutally murdered in their home, "allegedly" by Stephen Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky, two dirtbags who are currently rotting in prison while lawyers argue about "discovery" and "potential unbiased juror pools". (I guess you can count me out as a juror...)

On a lighter note, a group called Cheshire's Lights of Hope is planning a fundraising event to benefit Hayley's Hope and Michaela's Miracle Memorial Fund, the MS Society charity fundraising teams established by the two daughters to help combat the illness that afflicted their mother. The group is promoting an event called "Light the Night with Hope" by selling luminaries that will be sponsored by Cheshire businesses along Routes 10 & 70 and lit by volunteers on the evening of Dec. 16th. To date, Hayley's Hope and Michaela's Miracle Lights%20of%20Hope4.JPGMemorial Fund has raised over $100,000 from more than 880 donors, and efforts like Cheshire's Lights of Hope will not only add to those outstanding numbers, they also help a heartbroken community to heal its wounds through comraderie. Bravo!
