Homeward Bound

Happy New Year, all! I'm blogging from Dayton Ohio, where I've been spending the past few days visiting family. Today we depart for home in Connecticut again, where I expect to find all of our lawn Christmas decorations blown apart and scattered across the neighborhood from the big rainstorm that hit the region on New Years Day. I guess that's better than coming home to two feet of snow! It's been a hectic week in the news with James Brown and President Ford's deaths, and the execution hanging of Saddam Huessin. Here in Bengals country, I witnessed firsthand the execution of the Bungles from playoff contention at the hands of their hated rivals, the Dirty Rotten Steelers. It's funny how the Steelers can underachieve miserably by failing to make the playoffs after winning Super Bowl XL last year, and for all projections lose their head coach Bill Cowher in the process, and yet their fans take so much pleasure in rubbing defeat in the noses of the loyal Bengals fans whose team hasn't achieved a fraction of the success that the Steelers have over the years. Misery loves company, I guess.
