    Tears for Jimmie

JimmieJohnson.jpgJust got back from New Hampshire In't Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire, where I watched the first race of the Nextel Cup under beautiful bright blue skies. Now I'm in self-imposed detox for the next few days trying to clear all of the Heinekens and Sam Adams from my liver. The race was pretty exciting, as Kevin Harvick won from the pole position, and any time Jimmie Johnson hits the wall--well, that's just icing on the cake. (See photo of Jimmie to the right, taken in happier days.) The funniest thing I heard about the race is that local boy Ted Christopher started four laps down because his spotter got stuck in an elevator when the power went down during driver announcements. (Poor Teddy.) The fans didn't get to hear the national anthem because the PA system was down, but the good news is they played it twice the day before, so it all evened out in the end. So, to make a long story short, that's why I haven't blogged in a few days--along with the fact that the house where i stayed only has dial up internet, so it was painful just trying to get connected. In fact, it's probably still trying to log on...
