    Say It Ain't So, Joe!

Courage_profiles2.JPGI found this article from Bullmoose while surfing around before class. The guy takes Lamont bloggers to task in near-Lindbaugh style. Here's one quote from the article: "By sticking to his guns, Joe [Lieberman] wrote another chapter in Profiles in Courage." Wait a minute, I thought Jack Kennedy wrote Profiles in Courage? I didn't know Jack Kennedy, Jack Kennedy wasn't a friend of mine (I was only 18 months old when he was shot...), but I can tell you one thing, Senator Lieberman--you're no Jack Kennedy!

    Nancy Johnson is Dead

Well, politically, anyway. There's a great article in this morning's Courant about how Chris Murphy stayed above Nancy Johnson's mudslinging, and his poise paid off in a double-digit victory that sent her on a permanent vacation from Congress.  Seeing Lamont lose to Joe Caricaturehead was tough, but waving Bon Voyage to the Johnsons makes it a little easier to swallow.  And it looks like we won't have Rob Simmons to protect our jobs and our security anymore, because his recount hasn't been finding many "hanging chads".  His radio ad about saving the sub base and how "Pratt & Whitney and Sikorsky" needed his protection as well was particularly insulting to Pratt workers, especially since we've lost thousands upon thousands of manufacturing jobs already and he never said "boo" to George W. about it.  It'll be interesting to see how Leiberman returns from bushpout.jpghis wayward ways to schmooze with the Democratic party. So Lamont was unsuccessful in his bid for the Senate, because Leiberman knew how to play the game and get state and national republicans to rally behind him, but the photo of George Bush on the front cover of the Courant pretty much sums up the mood of the Republicans after the election. And who knows?  Maybe Ned will give Do-Nothing Dodd a run for his money in a couple of years!

    Orange again

    Orange you glad?

    Deep Blue Sea

Now I did it. I made my site blue.  Help!

    Impressions of a Short Class

First, Colin, I hope all is well with your family.

Second, I thought we had a good conversation about checked vs. unchecked freedom on the Internet.  Like everything else, it's a sliding scale.  Total web anarchy poses risks to the users and the population in general, but implementing an authority or guardian would seemingly take away from the free nature of blogging that we all cherish.

My point is that ethical behavior doesn't begin with the bloggers. It starts with our upbringing and family values, long before we ever give up our pacifier for a mouse.  To that point, I thought the conversation about TV babysitters was quite relevant.

Thanks to Dan for driving tonight.  If I could be reincarnated I would like to come back as a Japanese action figure cartoon, they are so cool. (Is it still cool to say cool?)

Finally, I really enjoyed the opportunity to kick back and shoot the breeze with my classmates. The class is usually so fast-paced, it was kind of nice to get to know everyone a little more closely.
